Valentine's card?

While I was playing around with colors, I accidentally found this could be a valentine's day card or something.
Without the line work made it more secret looking, so I like it!

My head is almost blasted with making color separations.
Geeeeeeez~ they MUST be HOT!

Good start to 2011!

It took a month I finally have time for blogging!
I got some amazing news since the beginning of 2011, and felt like 2011 is going to be the best year!

Altpick 7 - First place overall winner in Illustration Series category.
2. Jan 6th, 2011
Society of Illustrators West (SILA) 49th annual - American Boys got a silver medal from the Graphic novel/ Comic books category, and Movado got into the Advertising category.
3. Jan 18th, 2011
Print Magazine Hand Drawn Competition -Selected as one of the inaugural Illustration competition winners.

All I can say is "Thank you so much!"

I finally started printing this semester for my H.O.T book.
I'm so excited to do it again what I can do the best, but one word for me -'hectic'
Even though I became tired-groggy- and a zombie at the end of the week, I had real fun with the heavy screens!
All my joints and shoulders said - "you're insane" but yeah.... I am truly insane for my work!

I'm not going to post the images I made until the thesis show at the end of April, but here is the first test proof images I printed yesterday.
Papers and colors are going to be changed.

I'll post the award images as soon as they are ready.
Oh, Happy new year all of you!! :D

It was a fancy night!
Especially, I was honored to meet Eugene Tong who is a senior style editor, Details Magazine. (Even more than Derek Jeter and Wynton Marsalis, haha)
He had tons of sense of humor and I became a huge fan of him! (nice)

Sorry for being lazy to my blog about a month. haha...
I was super busy until the beginning of December, and HOLY COW all good things happened to my nerdy life.

The Brooklyn Comics and Graphics Festival became one of my best memories in 2010.
And Thanks again for making me one of the penals with James McShane,Renee French and Leanne Shapton!
As a fan of their work, it was my BIG honored to be with them in a same group.
And thanks for coming to see me and buy my prints! ( I made a bundle again! )

The special thing was I met Vanessa Davis and became friends right after!
I've been her huge fan since 2006, but she was even more amazing in person!!!
Wow! BCGF is always good!!!!!

Dec 4, 2010- HOLY SHIT! I'm one of the panels at the Brooklyn Comics and Graphic Festival this year! I also sell my stuff there, so come by and meet my American Boys!
Dec 6, 2010- MOVADO Group, Inc have named me on a 2010 Movado Future Legend! haha!!! WOW!! So excited for this event!! As a part of the 'Night of Discovery' event created by Movado for Derek Jeter's Turn 2 organization.

NY Times Op-ed Townies- the third blogging of November

NY Times gave me to have a more realistic experience in terms of how newspapers work yesterday.
For this piece, I only got about 6 hours, and my hand became like an automatic drawer.
I really enjoyed the challenged experience and also made me ensure why I want to be an illustrator in America.
I'm not 100% satisfied with the final piece, but glad I did my best for it.

This year's on my birthday, I met some awesome people at the AI party and the after party.
But I didn't tell anybody the day( Nov 11th) was my birthday! ( because I don't like getting older? :P)
